The Hub
The hub is your landing page when you enter EmpireState. This page will give you a quick overview of all your projects, their statuses, budgets and will also show you any changes to those projects that have occurred since you last logged in. |

Project Overviews
Project Overview is like the command centre of a project - it gives you a quick overview of everything you need to know about how the project is progressing. |

Tasklists
Think of Task List as an interactive to-do list, where you can keep a record of all the things you need to get done.
EmpireState's Task List is hierarchical, based on the principle that every project is essentially composed of a series of steps. Each of these steps can be broken up into smaller steps, and those into yet smaller ones, until each is a manageable task. Then the tasks can be completed in sequence until the project is complete. |

Project Blog
Every project in EmpireState has a Project Blog where you and your colleagues can discuss issues, share ideas, and stay in touch if you are working remotely. The Project Blog has a View Options panel which you can use to filter your view of the blog by category. Like any blog, you can assign your posts to a category and comment on your colleagues' posts. You'll be represented in discussions by your avatar - an image of yourself which you can change in your personal profile. |

Scheduler
The scheduler is not unlike a Gantt chart, but it is much simpier. Typical Gantt features like task dependencies are not available (yet), but tasks put here can be compared to each other over 3, 6 or 12 months. Start dates and task durations can be set directly on the chart. |

Milestones (calendar)
Milestones allows you to keep track of medium- and long-term goals for your project. With Milestones you can set up times for review sessions, meetings or phone calls and invite anyone in your Workgroup to attend them. |

File Area
You can use the File Area to share project-related files with your colleagues. When you start a new project, EmpireState will create a default folder for your files. If you are a Project Manager or have extended rights, you can use Manage File Folders to create new folders so you can organize your files any way you like. |

Time tracking
With Time Tracking, you and your colleagues can keep a log of the time you spend on projects. Users can view and edit their time logs by specifying date ranges. If you have permission you'll be able to see a collated time log for everyone on the project, allowing you to keep track of how much time has been spent, and filter the log by user. |
